Church Life Department – Shall hold responsibility for all purposes and duties pertaining to Worship, Christian Education, and Membership, as well as other areas assigned by the General Board. Examples include – but not limited to – Overseeing all Church School & Church Library programs, coordinating Fifth Sunday & fellowship dinners, funeral dinners, recognizing new members, making sure Worship supplies are stocked, etc.

Community Life Department – Shall hold responsibility for all purposes and duties pertaining to Local and World Outreach, as well as other duties assigned by the General Board. Examples include the oversight of the BCC Food Pantry and Love Fund, missions, organizing community activities such as food baskets and Christmas caroling, etc.

Trustees – Shall act as the legal agents of BCC in all business matters under direction of the General Board and subject to the approval of the church body. The trustees handle all matters relating to the church’s properties including – but not limited to – insurance matters, all care and maintenance issues, legal issues, and supervision of any trust or endowments.

Eldership – The body of Elders shall work with the functional departments and minister to promote the growth and welfare of the church, give spiritual oversight to members including visitations, serve at the Lord’s Table, and to help ensure that BCC is following its mission – to help bring the lost to Jesus Christ. The Elders should work closely with the Minister help ensure that the spiritual needs of the congregation are being met.

Diaconate – The body of the Diaconate shall work closely with the Minister, Eldership, and functional departments to promote the growth and welfare of the church, assist in greeting and ushering worshippers, prepare and help distribute the Lord’s Supper, receive the church offering, assist in the visitation of the needy, sick, and the bereaved as needed.

Youth Director – Shall plan and implement a program of youth activities in cooperation with the Minister and Church School Superintendent. The Youth Director will be responsible to report plans to the General Board and to perform other tasks as needed by the Board.

Church School Superintendent – Shall be a functional member of the Church Life Department and shall cooperate with that department in the planning and administering of a Christian Education program.

Church Historian/Librarian – Duties shall include keeping an adequate record of the ongoing life of the church through a variety of media such pictures, news articles, or movies. Items to be documented include significant additions or alterations to the church, an account of achievements in the areas of church fellowship, education, or witness. Other duties include coordinating library acquisitions, maintaining the library facility. This position shall serve as part of the Church Life Department.
